A day and two nights in Bhaktapur...

It's  been busy with projects at the church, school/work and ministry commitments so in the midst of it all, we are taking a 2 night break in planet Bhaktapur.  Little treats consist of  .... Yes you guessed it...hot showers for all! Laundry service right now as I blog.  (Clothes get so dirty here!  We always wash by hand but today is a treat to hand a big bag of clothes to hotel reception.). This way in a few days when we begin flights back, our clothes will hopefully be semi-clean!

(Below is a cool pic in the medieval city)

Here we are enjoying brunch...

The church in ktm is a very urban setting with a concrete courtyard and roof.  We love it especially with the community life with all the kids, youth and adults there.  However we realized today that it's been weeks since we've been around some greenery.   This morning we are hearing so many different varieties of birds chirping.  It's magnificent.

Joseph on our balcony...

Gastrointestinal issues are still a problem for some of us.  (Something I'm realizing may affect us until departure).  We are functioning despite this!  Here are some pics of our adventures today...

Narrow alleyways portray real life here.  There are shops, homes, children playing and many  deep wells where locals collect water to bathe, wash produce or drink.  Locals sit and visit often curious about the tribe that we are;  all 6 of us walking by!

Baktiphur - an ancient city founded in 700 AD.

A local Nepali man spinning a potters wheel.  We gave him some rupees so we could take some pics.  What a hard worker.

Joseph playing a Nepali trumpet!

Mike will be with Mikayla in Hong Kong on his birthday this weekend so we celebrated as a family tonight.  They baked an apple pie for him at the hotel - how sweet!

Happy 44th Birthday to an amazing Dad & hubby... ❤️

  2. Someone in our resort who is familiar with parasites...said, you'll all need to do a parasite cleanse when you get back. Good idea!
